5 Mowing Tips

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Everyone who has a lawn will really benefit from these mowing tips:

Grass should not be cut to low as higher grass heights offer deep root system and looks better since that will have less invading weeds and to avoid having bald spots on the garden.

The lawn should not be mowed when the grass is wet as this would cause them to be pulled by the roots leaving the lawn looking unkempt.

Wet soil and grass will clump and this will destroy the appearance of the lawn. The best time to mow is in the late afternoon as the sun has completely dried the grass and the soil.

For better results, select the right equipment. It should allow you to adjust the heights as you require. Select t those that will collect the cut grass as this will make cleaning easier.

Trim grass regularly as determined by the weather and the season.
For shorter grass, mow in different directions with each mowing to prevent them from developing a set pattern.
